[Article] Kim Hyun Joong, "Public relationships is something I'll never do"

Credit:  www.hancinema.net /http://ss501-news.blogspot.com/

Kim Hyun-joong expressed his thoughts about relationships and marriage.

The age of thirty doesn't seem that far to Kim Hyun-joong now, as he was born in 1986 and he's soon turning thirty himself.

We asked him about getting married. He said, "I don't think I can do it. Coming back from the military, I'll be thirty-five by then. I thought about getting married when I was younger but now I don't think I can do it. I don't think I'll be loyal to my family because I love my job too much. I'll get married only if I feel a dilemma between singing, dancing and acting".

What about relationships then? He said, "I can't lie that I won't meet people. I did have a secret relationship a year ago but now I don't. "

He explained the difference between the early and late twenties. He said, "I thought a relationship happened when two people decided they were together. But now it's not like that. There's a spark when the right person comes".

"I even thought about it when I was filming a drama. In the dramas, relationships are legal. I liked that. I liked the fact that two people in love were over once the drama was over. It was like living in a different world so that's why I was so much more attracted to the drama this time".

Kim Hyun-joong starred in the KBS 2TV drama "Inspiring Generation" and was loved greatly by Lim Soo-hyang (Gaya) and Jin Se-yeon (Kim Ok-ryeon). He said, "I had a woman who loved me and one who had a crush on me. I used to be the kind of person who loves the one that loves me first but now I think differently. I think the other one who loves me might feel greater love. It's now less suffering".

"I want to be comfortable about having a relationship. I don't want something too passionate or clingy. I would like something ordinary. I prefer eating and walking hand-in-hand rather than surprising her with flowers. I realize being ordinary is the best".

We asked if he would open his relationship to the public. He said, "I would never. It's only the girl that suffers if we break up. There's no need to give her the 'who's ex-girlfriend' when she gets married. I won't open up unless I'm getting married. I am doing this for the girl".

Meanwhile, Kim Hyun-joong is taking a break since the ending of "Inspiring Generation". He's also planning a world tour concert starting from Korea.

[Interview] Kim Hyun Joong Talks about Dating and Marriage

In a recent interview with Newsen, singer/actor Kim Hyun Joong talked about his thoughts on dating and marriage.

The reporter asked Kim Hyun Joong, born in 1986 and inexorably approaching 30, about his plans for marriage. The actor immediately replied that he doesn’t think he will be able to, smiling. He said, “Once I finish my military service, get out, and do this and that, don’t you think I’ll be over about 35? A long time ago, I thought I would definitely get married one day, but now I’m not so sure. I like my work so much I don’t think I could be completely devoted to my family. If, one day, I’m met with a dilemma about acting, singing, and holding concerts, I’ll get married then.”

Then what about dating? Kim Hyun Joong said straightforwardly, “If I said I don’t, it would be a lie. I had a girlfriend that I was meeting in secret about a year ago, but I’m not dating anyone right now.” He then explained the difference in his views on dating between him in his early twenties and his late twenties. “Before, like children, I thought that If we said ‘let’s date,’ we were dating. But now, that’s not the case. (Now,) I think there’s a time when sparks fly. Although my older friends say that eventually even that becomes meaningless…”

“When I filmed dramas, I used to think that it was permitted dating. I really liked that, including the feeling of having to accept ‘breaking up’ when the drama was over. Because you’re living in another world. I think that’s one of the things I really like about this recent drama [‘Age of Feeling’],” referring to the love triangle in the show. ~ 4D ah

The actor explained further that in the drama, there was a girl he liked and a girl that liked him. “I’m the type that no matter what, I like who I like. BuIntert, filming this drama, that changed. I began to think that I could like someone that likes me, and that it would be much easier that way.”

Kim Hyun Joong said that now he just wants to date comfortably, and doesn’t care for fiery passion or things of the sort. “Normal dating is the best. Buying her flowers, doing surprises, eating together, and holding hands. I didn’t know that normal was great when I was young, but now I’m getting it.”

When asked if he could date publicly, Kim Hyun Joong said he could never. “Once the relationship is over, the only one affected is the girl. There’s no need to describe a married woman as ‘so-and-so’s girl.’ If it’s not for marriage, I will never publicly date, in order to respect that person’s personal life.”

[Interview] Kim Hyun Joong Admits To Dating Secretly

Credit:  www.kdramastars.com /http://ss501-news.blogspot.com

Kim Hyun Joong has been doing a lot of talking about dating lately but he's not giving up any names. Nor is he likely to.

In a recent interview with Newsen, he confessed that he has dated in secret and he would never go public with a relationship.

"If I say I don't date, that would be a lie. I dated in secret a year ago, but I am not dating currently," said the singer and "Inspiring Generation" star.

If he really cared for someone he would not want to expose that person to media scrutiny or tarnish her reputation in any way.

"I noticed that when people date publicly and breakup, it's usually the woman who suffers for it," he said. "I don't think there's any need for a woman who may later marry someone else to have the title of my woman following them. If I'm not going to marry that person, I will never go public with the relationship out of respect for that person's life."

But the older he gets the more he thinks that marriage may not be an option for him. At 27, he still has to fulfill his military duty and has plans for his career.

"If I do everything I want to, I will be over 35 years old," he said. "In the past I thought I really will get married but now I don't have the confidence that it would work. I love work so much I'm not sure I will be able to put my family first. If a conflict comes up with a drama, singing or a concert, then I will probably choose that."

Well, at least he's honest.

He said that the longest he ever dated a girl was for three years and she was a non-celebrity. He has denied the rumors that he was dating After School singer and actress Uee, who he met when they appeared on "Barefooted Friends."

"It's not true at all," he said. "We were close during the filming, but I am not dating Uee like the rumors suggest."

His ideas about dating have changed in the last few years. He does not want a dramatic relationship, just a person to share daily life with.

"I think an impulsive relationship based on passion and or possessive one is not that great," he said. "A normal dating relationship is best. Rather than buying flowers and doing surprise events, it's better to just eat together and hold hands. I didn't realize how good such normal and ordinary things were when I was younger but I realize that now."

But given how much he likes sharing a day's ordinary events, he may yet change his mind about marriage.

Me:  You are truly Gentleman HJ ah, You even think over for your woman. Not many men can do this for their ex. They can blame or bad mouth abt their past lover.
As a fan, I wanna you to have a true love and she will love n care for your from her bottom.
No matter what happens and whoever you choose, I BELIEVE in your choice.

Recently having starred in a drama as the lead actor, Kim Hyun Joong shared his plans to enlist in the army.

Attending an interview for KBS 2TV’s The Age of Feeling in a cafĂ© near Samcheong-dong, Kim Hyun Joong revealed, “I’m planning to enlist in the army when I turn 30.”

“I should be enlisting soon since I’ll be in level 1 (*). Some people might not be so fond of the fact that I’m enlisting so late. It’s because of my career as an entertainer, but I still want to apologize. I was waiting for the right time and I will surely be enlisting now. I will be leaving early next year,” said Kim Hyun Joong.

(*) this is another translation from Korean. it's first grade soldier, but it's not a must to go. since I'm going late to military service, my image that people see will be bad. ~from Venus Sdm.

He also shared his thoughts on turning 30. He said, “I think I will feel heaviness. I thought I’d get married when I’m 30. When I was 20 years old, 30 year olds seemed like real adults. But I don’t really have many thoughts right now. I’m still like a child. I think everyday would be the same even when I turn 30.”

Then when the reporters asked if his 30th year would be different since he will be in the army, Kim Hyun Joong laughed and said, “It’ll be good since they will feed me and let me sleep at the right time.”

“It will be a time to find Kim Hyun Joong. Living as an entertainer is very unstable. Even if you try not to care, you cling to the numbers, such as the viewership rating for dramas and rankings on music charts if you’re a singer. Sometimes I can’t sleep due to stress. I might think I have my both feet on the ground, but another part of my body that I cannot diagnose might be anxious. But I plan to put all that aside and spend some ordinary time like other people and find myself.”

Then what kind of thirties did Kim Hyun Joong dream of when he was in his twenties?

He answered, “I dreamed of a newly wed life. But I don’t think I can get married now. If I return from the army and take care of some business I would be past 35.

“I used to really want to get married but now I don’t have the confidence,” continued Kim Hyun Joong. “Because I enjoy work too much. I’m not saying I don’t value family but I don’t think I can entirely devote myself to family. I would be too busy filming dramas, singing and holding concerts. I used to think that men in their thirties are old but that’s not true these days. Some even bloom after they turn 30. I hope that goes the same for me.”

Meanwhile, Kim Hyun Joong turned into a loyal and manly fighter Shin Jung Tae in recently ended dramaThe Age of Feeling.

“I really focused on The Age of Feeling. I had a lot of love for Shin Jung Tae as a character. I was almost obsessed. I did everything I could. I cannot put a price on my acting but I think I succeeded in showing as much as I can. I poured everything to the point where I wouldn’t have been able to film the 25th episode.”
